Winter is Just Around the Corner!

Happy early winter to everyone.  This is always such a wonderful time to be using the trails in and around Park City, this year was no exception.

A reminder to all that the wildlife are in migration mode….many sightings are being reported around the basin. Users are reminded to be please be kind and give some distance, and also keep dogs on a leash.

If you are looking to get out this fall and want to stay clear of mud, try to the newly paved Silver Quinn trail which runs along the east side of Round Valley.  Paving this trail is monumental in creating a safe route that circumnavigates the entire Park City area, when the loop is complete (trails include Millennium, Rail Trail and Highland Dr. path)  it will be nearly 25 miles long and serve all types of users, from families pulling bike-trailers to avid road riders.

Dust off the skinny skis, snow bikes and Yak Tracks!  Winter’s on the way and the trail prep work has begun for the 2012 season!  With nearly 40 – 50k of groomed terrain from Round Valley and the Rail Trail, and over 30K’s of groomed trail in the Basin Recreation network, there’s plenty of play-space for everyone.  In an effort to keep users up-to-date on grooming details and conditions, tune in to KPCW each morning for the trails report.  Additionally, Mountain Trails Facebook page is a great place for a quick updates and there will be detailed reports on the Mountain Trails and Basin Rec websites as well.

Save the Date > > and support Mountain Trails Foundation during Live PC Give PC, it is a time for the community to unite for 24 hours of giving. It’s one extraordinary day to support the organizations that make Park City special and it’s your chance to make a real impact – every donation you make gives Mountain Trails Foundation the chance to win matching grants. It happens November 16th, and there will be information on our Live/Give page and all of our social media outlets throughout that day!

This winter when you are out on the trails, take the time to smile and be kind to all the other users – just a few seconds of kindness can make a persons day!
