I’m from Townsend, Massachusetts and grew up on a small farm with horses, pigs, cows, turkeys, and chickens. My hobbies include mountain biking, BMX biking and glassblowing. I’ve been doing trail work for 3+ years and worked at Thunder Mountain, Mass and the Sugarbush VT bike park.

Matt Steingass
Hi I’m Matt Steingass. I was raised in the mountains of Northeastern PA, in a tiny town called Shickshinny. After serving as a Navy Corpsman for 5 years, I moved to Park City and found work as a snowmaker at Deer Valley for the past 5 seasons. This is my 3rd season on our trail crew here at MTF. I’m a dual-sport moto rider and I hope to explore and improve/reclaim motorized trails in the Uinta National Forest this summer.
The song I would most likely sing at karaoke is “Old man” by Neil Young and my favorite trail in PC is Rossi Hill Final.
Philip Blevins
I was an aerospace engineer doing software development on the F-16 fighter jet avionics computer software and then retired. Love mountain biking and occasionally trail running the Park City and Round Valley trails. I wanted to give back and have been at a number of Mountain Trails Foundation volunteer events over the years. Once retired I decided why not work for Mountain Trails Foundation. I can be outdoors at a job I enjoy doing and will see the results of my effort when I recreate on the trails I love.
Karaoke song: ZZ Top- La Grange
Favorite trail: Shadow Lake Trail Park City

Growing up in Driggs Idaho, I’m no stranger to multiple forms of outdoor recreation. However, I wish I had discovered mountain biking earlier in my life as it quickly became my main passion and outdoor hobby. Starting my education of learning how to build and maintain trails through five seasons of working for Mountain Bike the Tetons in Driggs, I’m currently starting my second season with MTF to further my trail building education.
My favorite bike trail is probably Lithium trail off the top of Teton Pass on the Wyoming border near Driggs.
I don’t have a go-to karaoke song since that’s not my style. However, if someone had a gun pointed at my crotch, I suppose I would choose the song “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley.
