Park City trails are open to hiking/trail-running, mountain biking and equestrian trail users. Ranging in altitude from 6,500’ to nearly 10,000’, the trail system spans the whole environmental scale. In a single excursion, trail users can experience everything from high-desert covered in sagebrush, mountain mahogany and rabbit brush to the archetypal high-altitude alpine environment.
Park City has been recognized by the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) as the first Gold Level Ride Center in the world and continues to share that status with five other destinations. Both the Mid Mountain trail and the 26-mile, Park City Epic- Armstrong & Pinecone combined with the Wasatch Crest & Mid Mtn, are recognized as IMBA Epic rides.
The season for alpine trails typically begins in June and runs through early November. Snowpack and rate of spring melt significantly impact the accessibility of trails above 7,000’. Trail crews must wait until trails are dry before they can begin clearing winter blow-downs and making necessary, post-winter repairs. Trails in the lower-lying areas of Park City, such as Round Valley and Glenwild dry out and can be accessible up to six weeks earlier than on-mountain trails.
Utah is known for dynamic and severe weather, especially on the Wasatch Back. During summer months, temperatures can vary as much as 40 degrees in a single day. Summer storms, though typically brief, often cause sudden downpours of heavy rain/hail with temperatures plummeting 25+ degrees and are usually accompanied by lightning. Keep an eye on the sky. If thunderheads begin to develop it is wise to get off the mountain quickly.

Morning PC! A post-Thanksgiving trail update for this Black Friday. Let’s call it a white Friday and #optoutside
The Round Valley soft-surface trails got a touch up groom this morning and coverage is decent but still a little boney in spots, so ski with caution.
Much of the singletrack is packed thanks to some human power and is looking sweet! Should be an awesome day for rolling the fattys.
A friendly reminder to please toss your pups sticks off the trail so they don’t get hung up in the grooming equipment.
Time to work off some of that turkey and mashed potatoes… Have a great one out there! #trailreport

Thaaank you guys!!!
Happy Hump Day PC! Your winter trails update, Thanksgiving eve addition...
While the storm didn't produce quite as well as we had hoped, our team did get out for some track-packing and grooming passes this morning. It's amazing what you can do with 4-inches!😜
We were able to lay down cord on about 8km of trail including the Quinn's soft-surface trails and Round Valley Express out to Highland. Speaking of, the new, improved, Round Valley Express is already a game changer for early season, low-snow conditions.
If venturing out on the skinny skis, you'll want to use the early-season rock variety and ski with caution.
As for the singletrack... not enough snow to warrant a groom but not so much that you can't still have a blast rolling the fattys. And once packed, they should be in great shape for the holiday weekend when you're looking to burn off that gobbledygook.
We'll see how coverage is up in Bonanza early next week, so stay tuned for that...
Have a Happy Turkey Day and give thanks for snow!

Thanks you guys!
TGIF, Park City! Your opening day weekend, kinda, sorta, winter trails update for November 22nd-24th...
We're going to top out at a balmy 54-degrees today before transitioning to rain/snow and strong wind gusts tomorrow, ahead of this next storm system.
VARIABLE is your word for the weekend, and while there's still a good bit of singletrack that is fairly dry, anything north-facing that was holding snow will be sloppy, sloppy Joe this afternoon with this warm before the storm. Please use good judgement out there and think before you sink.
A gentle reminder that the local wildlife including the resident elk herd, have migrated down to their winter refuge in Round Valley and we have several wildlife closures in place. The elk herd has been seen all over Round Valley, so, for the safety of your pups and all wildlife, PLEASE keep your dogs under control and carry a leash with you AT ALL TIMES.
A friendly reminder from your friends at Deer Valley Resort. Uphill travel and sledding are never permitted on Deer Valley property. Please be gracious guests and remember the extensive public access the resort allows throughout the summer months.
The 2024-25 ski season is officially under way, with Park City Mountain opening today and more snow on the way later this weekend... It's high time to crush some groomers!
Get jiggy with those snow dances and have great one out there! #trailreport

Thanks Rick and crew! Hopefully we get a lot of white stuff soon! Also curious about Bonanza Flats.
Is there a shuttle up to Bonanza Flats this year? When does the grooming start?
Here's a new season and hopefully one where the runners respect the groomed singletrack and don't posthole it up after every storm, leaving it unrideable.
