Park City trails are open to hiking/trail-running, mountain biking and equestrian trail users. Ranging in altitude from 6,500’ to nearly 10,000’, the trail system spans the whole environmental scale. In a single excursion, trail users can experience everything from high-desert covered in sagebrush, mountain mahogany and rabbit brush to the archetypal high-altitude alpine environment.
Park City has been recognized by the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) as the first Gold Level Ride Center in the world and continues to share that status with five other destinations. Both the Mid Mountain trail and the 26-mile, Park City Epic- Armstrong & Pinecone combined with the Wasatch Crest & Mid Mtn, are recognized as IMBA Epic rides.
The season for alpine trails typically begins in June and runs through early November. Snowpack and rate of spring melt significantly impact the accessibility of trails above 7,000’. Trail crews must wait until trails are dry before they can begin clearing winter blow-downs and making necessary, post-winter repairs. Trails in the lower-lying areas of Park City, such as Round Valley and Glenwild dry out and can be accessible up to six weeks earlier than on-mountain trails.
Utah is known for dynamic and severe weather, especially on the Wasatch Back. During summer months, temperatures can vary as much as 40 degrees in a single day. Summer storms, though typically brief, often cause sudden downpours of heavy rain/hail with temperatures plummeting 25+ degrees and are usually accompanied by lightning. Keep an eye on the sky. If thunderheads begin to develop it is wise to get off the mountain quickly.

Happy Sunday folks!
March 23rd grooming update:
As planned, Transit 2 Trails is running again today, and the Bonanza Nordic track got a refresh this morning 🤘.
While a bit warmer today, it looks like the clouds will be sticking around this morning as well as some wind up around Bonanza, so that'll help keep snow conditions on the nicer side, but perhaps think about a wind breaker if you head up high.
Whatever you get into today, we hope you have a great day!

Gorgeous up there
Like clock work, it's Saturday folks!
March 22nd grooming update:
Transit 2 Trails is running today!
Bonanza received roughly another 3-4" of snow, hard to tell with the wind pushing things around at times. Once this system blew out at about 7am, there's been a mix of blue skies/sun and grey/ flat light. The wind has been gusting at times but it's been mostly a light breeze up here this morning, this does mean the wind is relocating some snow back over what has been groomed in spots. As usual, the connector piece down from the saddle is getting it the worst, but once you're down in the flats, the sections more protected by the trees were holding up much better.
Beyond what the wind is adding to the track in spots, the track conditions were generally firming up quite nicely since we also groomed yesterday.
Whatever you decide to get into today, we hope have an enjoyable day!

Will it get a groom tomorrow (Sunday) morning, too? Thanks for the great work!
Looks good up there 👌
TGIF Folks!
Friday, March 21 grooming update:
The morning groom up in Bonanza went smoothly this morning, it was calm and decent visibility, minus the very flat light at times. There was some heavy drifting and some heavy snow in places, thanks to all the wind in this latest storm, but everything leveled off and groomed out well. Since the snow was fairly wind blasted where it was drifted and generally crusty snow now, the conditions aren't nearly as soft (post groom) as I would have thought.
Currently about 23 degrees, snowing lightly and grey weather all around, not sure what this afternoon will bring but it's pretty nice up here on Empire Pass at 9am!
Whatever you get into today, we hope you have a great day!

How do you access this area if the transit to trails shuttle isn't running? Is there a link somewhere that explains it & provides a map?
Happy Hump Day, Park City! A quick trail condition update for your Wednesday...
Although it was absolutely nuking at times late yesterday, we only picked up about an inch or two of fluff in Round Valley. We're currently sitting at 16-degrees at 9am and will climb up into the mid-30's later in the day with plenty o' sunshine.
Most of the singletrack and soft surface pathways should be in decent shape this morning but we could see conditions start to deteriorate as the day progresses, so please get out early and tread lightly.
