Happy Friday Park City! Your high-noon, Corona-free weekend trail update for November 20th-22nd...

Don't be fooled by the sun... it's a chilly 36 degrees right now. We're looking at sunny skies and colder temps with highs in the upper 30's, low 40's over the weekend, so bundle up if you're venturing out for some trail time.

First off a little trail condition update... In case you weren't aware, we received a good bit of snow last weekend that gave us a day or two of decent skating and fat biking, followed by a warm spell(mid 50's) that melted said snow on the lower elevation trails; Round Valley, Lost Prospector, Glenwild, etc. That said, conditions are super-variable right now and as is typical this time of year, conditions will change pretty quickly with the freeze/thaw process in the mid morning hours.

Soooo, if you're unable to get your singletrack fix in early and be OFF the trails by 10am, we strongly encourage you to stick to the many paved or soft-surface trails in the area. And as always, if it's sticking to your heals, wheels or paws, do the right thing- just turn around and seek out terra firma. #RutsSuck!

This from Basin Rec...

Rob’s trailhead will not be maintained for parking this winter for a couple of reasons:
>Basin Rec has committed to regulating parking and trail congestion at this location following spikes in use this summer. We expect this increase to continue into the winter and available parking is one way that we can control congestion.
> All Basin trails accessible from Bear Hollow Drive are governed by easements that restrict usage in winter, but we(Basin Rec) are in conversations to modify easements for year-round use.
> Trails in this area are still accessible from Colin’s Trail and parking is available at the Park City Community Church except for Sunday mornings.

Also, a heads up that vehicles are now being ticketed/towed along Marsac below the Mid Mountain TH(from the Montage/round about up to the TH). Parking along the road is not permitted in the winter months, so if you cannot find parking in the designated lot, spare yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

On a positve note, today is the official kickoff of the 2020/2021 ski season! Park City Mountain is spinning their lifts, so go make some turns!

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but what the world needs now, more than ever, is more cow bell...
