Trail Report
Happy Friday afternoon Park City! A dry 'n dusty trail update to get your weekend rolling...
The weather... hot, dry, rinse (multiple times), repeat.
*TRAIL IMPACTS*
Users are advised to avoid the First Time area while heavy construction on the winter terrain park is underway. Lower Jenni's, lower Seldom Seen and First Time Return are closed. Silver Spur to Spiro/Armstrong remains open.
~ Bikers descending Seldom Seen will need to climb up Jennis .2 miles to exit on lower CMG. Hikers will need to avoid mid-Jenn's and CMG trails.
~ Recommended alternative hiking routes include: Mother Urban, Sweeny's/John's, Spiro, Armstrong & Dawn's.
*See map for visual aid*
Also, the Slate Creek Loop will be extremely busy with a mountain bike race tomorrow (Saturday), from 8am-5pm.
Some highlights from the week gone by...
~ Last weekend's "little" wind event kept crews busy clearing trees on Upper Spiro, Armstrong, Payroll, Cyn City, 9k, Ontario Bypass, Moosehouse, Lip Service, Change Up, Scott’s Bypass, Tommy’s, Mother Urban, and the Bloods Lake trail
~ Hoopty & crew wrapped up the re-tread/drainage and side-veg work on CMG.
~ Multiple crews spent the week giving Armstrong a much needed high-fade haircut.
~ On Tuesday, Emil and Candy led our monthly dig day with 30 volunteers, working on a hand-built, hike-only trail between Charlie's 9K and Mid Mountain.
~ Work on the new Bonanza to WOW connection continued with tres mini x's now breaking new trail, along with human-powered corridor clearing and rock work.
~ Lastly, the South Summit team spent the week clearing overgrown side vegetation on the White Fir DH trail and ensuring that the Slate Creek loop was ready for the upcoming race this weekend.
*Pup-lick Service Announcement*
PLEASE take extra good care of our 4-legged friends during these hot summer days. Make sure they have plenty of water and pay attention to hot surfaces- be it paved pathways or even the dirt, as their feet can burn easily.
Dust in the wind... all we are is dust in the wind. It was either that or Another One Bites the Dust. Maybe Gold Dust Woman??? Have a great weekend y'all! #trailreport

In other news...
Our crew continued to log out downed trees on PCMR, and to our knowledge all trails below 9k Trail are currently clear of trees (more can fall down at any time though!). There are still two good sized snow patches on 9K trail near Empire Pass, but things are pretty much melted out below that. We'll look into the trails above 9k trail next week!
Thanks to a mechanical issue, there's still a machine awkwardly sitting on CMG near the Eagle intersection (riders be careful getting around it), but we hope to fix it and wrap up the last little bit of CMG maintenance early next week!
The crew spent several days giving Change Reaction some much needed love, some rain would be great for the berms... But it is riding much better now!
Our crew out in South Summit has continued work in the Slate Creek area, focusing mainly on trimming back vegetation on White Fir trail this week. On going project, lots to trim back, but it's already making a huge difference!
It has been a scary hot dry June for the most part...let's all do our part to try to summon some rain, we need it so desperately already! 😳😳
Whatever you get into this weekend, we hope you have a stellar weekend!
