Happy Friday Park City! A quick trail update for this first weekend of August...

This forecast is making meteorologists obsolete- dry, sunny, mid to upper 80's, rinse (multiple times), repeat.

*Trail Impacts/Closures*
~ The Park City Trail Series will be holding their half marathon in Round Valley on Saturday from 8am-12pm starting at the Quinn's gravel lot. www.trailforks.com/route/park-city-trail-series-half-marathon/
Lower Jenni's remains closed while Park City Mtn works on re-establishing the trail alignment. Seldom Seen is open in it's entirety, however.
~ Lower Empire Link (Mid Mtn to Daly), has been impacted by Rocky Mtn Power construction, so exercise caution if descending this section.

Despite the heat, our team persevered and had a super productive week...
~ 420, Speedbag and TG2 were all given some much-needed haircuts... damn hippy trails!
~ Completed an erosion matting project on Mojave, reworking a catch-berm and landing to mitigate brake bumps leading into a berm.
~ Mobilized the water tank to Silver Queen in an effort to clean up brake bumps on catch-berms with some hand work.
~ Assisted Park City Mtn with some switchback work on the re-alignment of Jenni's to bypass new terrain park features.
~ The South Summit team cleared downed trees on the Slate Creek system and also cut back side veg and raked out rocks on the Oakley Bike Park trails.
~ Steady machine, hand and corridor work continued on the BLT to WOW connector.

It's the Park City Kimball Arts Festival weekend, so in between trail adventures be sure to get up to Main Street for a visual feast, great live music and some really good people watching.

Have a great one out there! #trailreport

Happy Friday Park City! Your post-Pie 'N Beer Day, weekend trail update for July 25th-27th...

The broken record keeps on spinning- mid 80's, sunshine on your shoulders and blue skies as far as the eye can see...

*Trail Impacts/Closures*
~ The Extreme Cup soccer tournament continues today through tomorrow (Sat), utilizing the Quinn's Fields, North 40 and City Park. Parking will be limited in every park and field throughout town.
~ Closures remain in place on lower Jenn's & Seldom Seen. Please respect all closures and use recommend alternative routes posted at the base area.
**2pm Update**
Just got word from Park City Mtn that lower Seldom will reopen this afternoon (Friday). Enjoy! Lower Jenni's remains closed.

Some crew highlights from the short week...
~ Work continued on the Bonanza Loop Trail (BLT) to WOW connector with machine, hand and professional wooden feature construction on the downhill section.
~ Completed side-veg clearing on Mother Urban and Empire Link from Mid Mtn to Daly Canyon.
~ Reinforced the downhill edge of a badly eroded and dangerous section of Seldom Seen with 6x6's posts as well as retreading and backslope work.
~ Tread work and armoring on a problem landing and catch-berm on Mojave.
~ Signage team installed new signs from Clark Ranch to Dead Tree
~ The South Summit team cleaned up overgrowth and performed tread work on Phase 1 of the Oakley Bike Park.

Time to burn off some of those pie n' beer calories... Have a great one out there! #trailreport
