Winter Trails Overview
80KM OF GROOMED WINTER TRAIL
While Park City has long been known as an alpine skiing destination, Summit County’s Nordic Trail System has blossomed to nearly 80 kilometers of superbly groomed trail. As fat-tire bikes, snowshoeing and winter trail running grow in popularity, the winter single-track trails are expanding likewise.

Welcome to another Sun-day folks!
March 17 grooming update:
Quinn's is blue-birding hard today, sitting at 36 degrees and climbing, calm and full sunshine right now! Spring conditions and expecting to hit 50 degrees again today!
I took Roy Boii through the normal morning routine, adding Hanscom's and the FULL Barrel Roll to the routine today. Most everything is still hanging on, however the Quinn's loops, Ability Way, Valderoad and several sections of Silver Quinn and RV Express to the inner valley are quickly melting and likely won't last much longer. It's suggested that skiers head towards the inner valley or Land of Oz!
Matt pulled the drag up and down Silver Quinn, RV Express to the inner valley and also Land of Oz this morning. Reporting Silver Quinn towards Highland (by that bench) has a long 50ft+ section of asphalt showing without a snow ribbon any longer, so be aware of that, also some large puddles on RV Express and Ability Way by the NAC road.
Things are going fast, and the next few days are expecting to be in the 50's as well, so better get the goods before they are gone!
Whatever you get into today, we hope you have a great day!
Alec & Matt

Thank-you for keeping the grooming going even as things thin! Nice skiing this morning. Yesterday the classic (especially in Oz in inner valley) was fantastic - no wiggle and smooth turns - level - well formed track - thank-you!
Thank you!
I probably got in my last RV fat bike ride for the season. Thanks for all you do!
Welcome to the weekend folks!
Saturday, March 16th grooming update:
**Wildlife note- the Elk Herd was spotted around 8:30am just outside the Trailside TH, if you are bringing your dog to that trail heads, just be aware!**
Quinn's has been lurking around 22-25 degrees this morning, but now with the sun out in full force we can expect those tempts to start climbing pretty quickly. It's expected to be in the high 40's, maybe even hitting 50 degrees later this afternoon. Judging from the conditions this morning after yesterday's afternoon heat, it's safe to assume it's going to get quite slushy out there again this afternoon!
El Rick took Roy Boii out for the morning rounds, grooming everything except Barrel Roll/Hanscom's (which were groomed yesterday, yes US 40 side of Barrel Roll too). Land of Oz groomed out great and is the groomers choice today! Get out there before the snow turns!
I took the snow machine drag up and down Silver Quinn and RV Express from highland to the inner valley. One small spot on Silver Quinn has full melted out and expected to grow in size this afternoon, most of Silver Quinn is still in good shape though! RV Express had a lot of ice this morning, expect it to be very wet and sloppy this afternoon when it heats up again.
The single track is still a very mixed bag right now, and with these significant temperature swings its difficult to try to maintain, so we're just "letting it be" as this winter season comes to a close. If you do venture out on it, we encourage getting out before lunch time! It's safe to assume that there will be many off-camber spots (aka, tricky fat biking) as the hillsides continue to melt, expect to see some muddy spots forming and spreading (especially berm turns, like on the Big Easy heading down into the inner valley, also why we have the Big Easy from the ice rink to the bottom of Down Dog closed off, nasty muddy spots!). Hopefully the trails not getting as much sun exposure are holding up decently, albeit probably pretty chunky and not too smooth.
I will also be pulling a drag over our Rail Trail section, from 248 to Bonanza, for what it's worth.
Looking like another amazing blue bird day out there! Whatever you get into, we hope you have a great day!

Any plans to go back to Bonanza flats this spring?
Moose almost ran me over last Sunday riding near south end of LaDeeDuh. I think it was as surprised as I was at the close encounter and luckily it was not interested in any further interaction 😅
TGIF Park City! Your winter trails report for Friday, March 15th...
The Quinn's trailhead thermometer is reading 27-degrees at 10am and no wind. We're looking at a mostly sunny day with a very spring-like high of 46.
Captain Alec is behind the sticks of the 'Roy Boii this morning, laying down fresh cord and classic on all of the Round Valley trails with the exception of Land of Oz- groomed yesterday. For those of you looking to spike that heart rate, Barrel Roll and Hanscom's Hollow will get some love today.
The north end of Silver Quinn near the Highland TH is melting out quickly with plenty of asphalt showing but you can still sneak by on a narrow ribbon snow. That may not be the case tomorrow.
The singletrack is in pretty rough shape at this point with the south-facing aspects melting out quickly. There are significant muddy patches on the Big Easy between the Ice Rink and the bottom of Downward Dog so PLEASE avoid this section.
The winter trails season is quickly winding down, so get out there and get after it before it's gone... #trailreport

The skiing was perfect this morning - thanks!
Great photos, life has so much beauty waiting to be explored now. Have fun and enjoy.
When RV is no longer GTG, will you guys be hauling ‘Roy up to Bonanza Flats for some extended spring grooming?
Happy Thursday Park City!
This is your daily grooming report for Mar. 14th 2024.
Round Valley got a mostly full groom this morning with the cat grooming and setting classic in most places including the steep pitch of Valderoad and Land of Oz.
Barrel Roll and Hanscom’s were not hit this morning. We did pull a drag down silver Quinn and the section of Round Valley Express that leads into the inner valley, however we didn’t make it all the way to the Highland trail head due to melt out.
Be careful out there and enjoy the snow while it lasts!
From the MTF Crew,
Alec & Matt

Singletrack?
The winter map is showing that the southern end of Big Easy by the ice rink is closed due to mud. Did the snow on the mountain not hit Round Valley?
Areas
There are several winter trail venues, each offering different qualities and recreational opportunities. This section is under construction. Keep coming back for more information.
