Trail Report
Good morning Park City and valley neighbors! It's another Saturday in the Park and here's the latest dirt on your local play-dirt for this first weekend of May...
Variable is your word for the weekend and TODAY is THE day for trail endeavors with plenty of sunshine on your shoulders to make you happy and temps peaking in the upper 60's. We'll see a big temperature swing over the next 48 hrs with a good chance of rain tomorrow and even some snow early next week. Ouch!
Round Valley is 75% good to go with plenty of dry to tacky dirt to be had. The Hwy 40 side and some north-facing trails are still holding pockets of mud and springs-a-seep'n, so I'd avoid that area. Also avoid upper Round Valley express as restoration work is being done between Cammy's and the bottom or Valderoad.
Lost Prospector/Skid Row/Freemason are still uber-muddy due to their north-facing aspect. Gambel Oak is good to go as an out and back but Masonic, Solamere Connector and Snowtop are still a ways out.
For those of you looking to get in the flow and get your wheels off the ground, the Clark Ranch trails- Sparky, Family Truckster and Cousin Eddie are in great shape.
And if you're looking for a great early season climb, the Skyridge trails- Milky Way, Big Dipper and the Skyidge Peak hiking trail are also good to go.
Check in with our friends at Basin Recreation for the latest on trail conditions in the North end of the valley.
The MTF trail crew got their boots on the ground this week and jumped right in to drainage work on some Round Valley trails in need of love, including Ramble On and the Big Easy.
It's going to be stellar day along the Wasatch back, so get out there and get after it! #trailreport

Is it possible to connect to Clark from Sky ridge or visa versa at this point? Thanks!
TGIF Park City! Today TGIF also stands for "The Ground Is Frothy" like an earthen mocha. Your weekend trail update for this, the last weekend of April...
As the old saying goes, April showers bring... muddy trail conditions... and of course, May flowers. It's been raining on and off all day here at MTF headquarters and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon.
That said, while trail conditions are going to be sloppy, sloppy Joe this weekend, it's a perfect opportunity for some spring cleaning (indoor), watching a good movie or bowling anyone?
Enjoy a little drizzly downtime and have a great weekend! #trailreport

Thanks for the update - that’s exactly my plans for the weekend- indoor spring cleaning stuff! Perfect weekend for it - my k9 will be bummed though…
MTF Team, it would be helpful during mud season to get more frequent updates. I know people have been venturing out when it is not G2G since they take the effort to get to the trailhead and don't want to turnaround when they've already gone. Appreciate all that you do!
Very creative!
