Mountain Trails is proud to announce the Adaptive Trails Assessment Program, with the aim of providing adaptive mountain bikers and trail users with access to and information about adaptive-equipment-friendly trail routes in the Wasatch Back.
Benefiting all users, this ambitious program, supported by the Division of Outdoor Recreation and funded by the Utah legislature’s Outdoor Adventure Commission, will focus on improving existing trails and infrastructure to adaptive-friendly standards. Guided by stakeholders such as the National Ability Center, Wasatch Adaptive Sports, and a broad range of riders using adaptive equipment, Mountain Trails Foundation will assess trails in Park City and the Wasatch Back to identify and assess safety hazards, “roadblocks” and aMTB-friendly upgrades to trails/routes. Determining accurate ratings, useful reporting systems and adaptive-friendly wayfinding signage will also be areas of focus for the assessment.
