Park City Wine Festival and Mountain Trails Foundation The Perfect Pairing

September 22, 2021 by Mountain Trails

This years Park City Wine Festival will take place September 30 – October 3 at various locations throughout town. As the premier food and wine event in Utah it will provide guest with the best from over 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries, epicurean purveyors, and locally-made products.

Mountain Trails Foundation has joined the Wine Fest as their community partner and we are sourcing volunteers for the event. It’s a great opportunity for Mountain Trails Foundation as the event is donating on behalf of every volunteer hour we contribute. In addition, they are providing volunteers who fulfill a minimum 4 hour commitment with a ticket to one of their sold-out two hour tasting events.

If you wish to sign up to volunteer please, do so here and make sure you mention Mountain Trails Foundation in the notes!

Cheers!

Meet and Greets are Back

August 6, 2021 by Mountain Trails

We are so grateful to be back out in the community, sharing the love, educating trail users, and making new friends.  Last Saturday we posted up in the First Time lot of Park City and were grateful to see many of you out enjoying the trails and being great stewards of the land.

With the influx of newcomers, we see our meet and greets as an opportunity to start people off on the right foot. In the theme of Lora’s message, it takes a village. Inducting or fellow trail users in a positive way ensures that we can perpetuate good vibes on the trails for years to come.

Of course, we love to see so many of our members stopping by, reconnecting, and chatting. Our next meet and greet takes place on August 21th, we can’t wait to see you there.

Park City Hires Trail Ranger Jimmy Tart

August 6, 2021 by Mountain Trails

The need for a helping hand on the trails has been highlighted over the last year as we see record numbers of users and new areas open to the public. As the saying goes; “you don’t know what you don’t know” and, with that in mind the City has hired its first Ranger, Jimmy Tart, to educate the public and ensure that we, as a community are sharing the trails in a responsible manner.

Jimmy is a long-time resident of Park City and if you are lucky enough to meet him, you’ll quickly realize he’s perfectly tailored to the new role. A ski guide, elite cyclist, avid hiker, and dog lover, Jimmy is aware of what it means to be a responsible trail user and what’s at stake when it comes to our continued access to and enjoyment of trails.

Of course, with a new Ranger in town, there’s an enforcement aspect which might come across as out of character to some. However, Jimmy wants everyone to know that he sees this role, first and foremost as an opportunity to encourage and promote positive behavior.

As Lora pointed out, it takes a village, and we hope this new aspect of our community nurtures a deeper sense of responsibility towards the trails we cherish.

Amazon Smile Donation Program

July 9, 2021 by Mountain Trails

Did you know that you can contribute to Mountain Trails with almost every Amazon purchase? Using Amazon Smile won’t cost you a thing and your Prime benefits are exactly the same. Of course, we encourage our members to shop local, but for those items you purchase online, please consider using the Amazon Smile app or homepage. Amazon Smile will donate .5% of every eligible purchase to your favorite charity and .5% of every trail user’s Amazon Smile purchases would really add up!
